Taliban Leader Orders Major Reshuffle in Provincial and Security Posts

DID Press: Taliban administration has announced sweeping changes in senior government and security positions across multiple provinces under a decree issued by its leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that the restructuring includes the appointment and reassignment of governors, deputy governors, and police commanders in several provinces.

Under the decree, Mullah Abdul Ahad Fazli, former governor of Faryab, has been appointed as Minister of Communications and Information Technology. He has been replaced in Faryab by Mullah Mohammad Hanif Hamza, previously governor of Badghis.

Mullah Abdul Rahman Haqqani, former governor of Baghlan, has been transferred to Khost, while Mullah Abdullah Mukhtar, former governor of Khost, has been appointed governor of Baghlan. Mullah Mohammad Wali Jan, previously an advisor in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Economic Office, has been named governor of Badghis.

Further changes include the appointment of Makhdoom Abdul Salam Saadat, former deputy governor of Paktika, as deputy for religious affairs at the Ministry of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments. Mullah Abdul Qayyum Hilal, former police chief of Maidan Wardak, has been appointed police commander of Baghlan.

Additional appointments include Mullah Mohammad Omar Mukhlis as police commander of Nimroz, Mullah Faridullah Qiyam as police commander of Logar, and Mullah Abdul Zahir Mudassar as deputy governor of Maidan Wardak.

Zabihullah Mujahid said the reshuffle aims to strengthen governance, improve coordination among institutions, and enhance administrative efficiency across the provinces.
