Baku–Yerevan Lobbying War Exposed in B-Dollar Race to Influence Trump Administration

DID Press: A new investigative report by two Western journalists has revealed the scale of an intense and costly lobbying competition between Azerbaijan and Armenia aimed at shaping U.S. policy during the Donald Trump administration.

The analysis, authored by international journalists Gibran Caroline Boyce and Dawn Kaickle, details how both countries allegedly spent millions of dollars to secure influence in Washington through lobbying firms, legal consultants, and politically connected intermediaries.

According to the report, both Baku and Yerevan have developed complex influence networks within U.S. political and policy-making circles, seeking to affect decisions related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, energy agreements, security cooperation, and broader regional positioning in the South Caucasus.

The investigation claims that this rivalry has significantly increased lobbying expenditures and contributed to opaque political relationships and financial practices in Washington’s foreign policy ecosystem.

It further states that competition between the two sides reached unprecedented levels during the Trump era, becoming one of the most expensive foreign influence campaigns in the United States.

The authors conclude that this ongoing lobbying struggle continues to shape U.S. diplomatic behavior in the region, with implications for transparency, geopolitical balance, and long-term stability in the South Caucasus.
