Xi Arrives in Pyongyang for Official Visit to North Korea

DID Press: Xi Jinping, President of China and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, arrived in Pyongyang on Monday at the head of a high-level delegation for an official visit to North Korea.

According to official Chinese sources, Xi is visiting North Korea at the invitation of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The visit comes as relations between Beijing and Pyongyang continue to play a significant role in East Asia’s political and security landscape. Both sides have repeatedly emphasized the expansion of strategic cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral ties.

Xi is accompanied by his wife, Peng Liyuan. Senior Chinese officials, including Cai Qi and Wang Yi, are also part of the delegation.

The leaders of the two countries are expected to discuss political, economic, and regional cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The trip is regarded as one of the most significant high-level exchanges between China and North Korea in recent months and is being viewed by observers as a sign of the enduring close relationship between the two neighboring Asian nations.
