ICC Faces Renewed Criticism Over Handling of Gaza War Cases
DID Press: International Criminal Court (ICC) is facing renewed scrutiny over its handling of cases related to the Gaza war following conflicting reports about alleged arrest warrants for Israeli officials.

The controversy escalated after the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the ICC had secretly issued arrest warrants against five Israeli officials, allegedly to avoid influencing ongoing investigations.
However, the ICC later denied the claim, stating that no new warrants had been issued in relation to the current situation in Palestine.
The episode has reignited debate over the court’s independence, speed of proceedings, and perceived double standards in handling cases involving Israel.
Critics argue that the ICC’s approach to Gaza-related allegations has been slow and influenced by political considerations, raising concerns about the institution’s credibility and impartiality.
Court officials, however, insist that all investigations are conducted strictly according to legal standards and without political interference.
Despite these assurances, the ongoing war in Gaza and growing demands for accountability over alleged violations of international law have intensified pressure on the court.
