HRW Urges Concrete Action After UN Listing of Israeli Forces
DID Press: Human Rights Watch has called on the international community to take practical measures following the inclusion of Israeli armed and security forces in a United Nations list related to conflict-related sexual violence.

The rights organization said that placing Israeli forces on the UN’s annual list should not remain a symbolic step and must be followed by concrete action to prevent further violations and ensure accountability.
In a statement, Human Rights Watch said that the decision by United Nations to include Israeli forces in its annual report on conflict-related sexual violence should lead to meaningful international responses.
According to the organization, such measures could include ending arms sales to Israel, imposing targeted sanctions on officials responsible for alleged abuses, and suspending preferential trade agreements.
The group argued that responsibility now lies with governments to take steps aimed at preventing further violations and addressing alleged misconduct.
Meanwhile, the United Nations responded to Israeli criticism of the listing by stating that Israeli authorities had not provided evidence of effective measures to prevent such incidents or hold perpetrators accountable.
The inclusion of Israeli forces in the UN report is considered one of the most significant international actions related to allegations surrounding the conduct of Israeli forces during the conflict in Gaza Strip and has intensified calls from human rights organizations for greater political, economic, and military pressure on Israel.
