FIFA Invites Afghanistan Football Chief to Historic 2026 World Cup Opening

DID Press: The president of the Afghanistan Football Federation is set to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City as a special guest of FIFA.

According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, federation president Mohammad Yousuf Kargar has traveled to Mexico at the official invitation of FIFA to participate in the opening events of the 2026 World Cup.

Kargar will join football officials and federation leaders from around the world and attend the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being staged with an expanded format featuring 48 national teams, making it the largest edition in the tournament’s history.
