Taliban Leader Chairs Cabinet Meeting in Kandahar
DID Press: Hibatullah Akhundzada chaired a meeting of the Taliban cabinet in Kandahar, where he called for governance in accordance with Islamic principles, the promotion of justice, and improved public services.

According to a statement issued by the Taliban administration, Akhundzada stressed the importance of carrying out official duties in line with religious directives, ensuring fairness, addressing public concerns, and providing what he described as sincere service to citizens.
Hamdullah Fitrat said the meeting discussed a range of issues, including religious education, strengthening Islamic values, improving educational services, and exploring ways to enhance the country’s economic and political sectors.
The statement added that decisions were taken on several matters discussed during the cabinet session, though specific details were not disclosed.
The meeting comes as the Taliban administration continues to face domestic and international criticism over social restrictions, limitations on civil liberties, and its interpretation and implementation of religious policies.
