DID Press: China has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s renewed allegations that Beijing interfered in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, describing the claims as “completely fabricated and groundless.”

Lin Jian, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Beijing has never interfered in U.S. elections and has no intention of doing so. He urged Washington to stop making what he described as “baseless accusations” against China.
The remarks came after Trump again questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 U.S. presidential election and accused China of influencing its outcome.
Responding to questions about whether the dispute could affect Xi Jinping‘s planned visit to the United States in September, Lin said Washington should avoid politicizing China-related issues during its electoral process and instead take steps to improve bilateral relations.
Trump visited Beijing in May, where he met with Xi. Following the meeting, both sides announced a new framework for managing bilateral ties. Beijing has also confirmed that Xi accepted Trump’s invitation to visit the United States in September.
