DID Press: Global oil consumption reached 103 million barrels per day in 2025, marking a 1.3% increase from the previous year, with the United States, China, and India accounting for 41% of worldwide demand, according to new statistical reports.
The latest energy data shows that the United States remains the world’s largest oil consumer, accounting for nearly 19% of global demand in 2025.
China and India ranked as the second- and third-largest consumers, respectively, maintaining their position among the key drivers of global oil demand. Despite Beijing’s efforts to accelerate energy transition policies, China’s oil consumption continued to record significant growth, while the United States and India experienced more moderate increases.
Saudi Arabia ranked fourth globally, accounting for 3.7% of total oil consumption, placing it ahead of countries including Russia, Japan, and South Korea.
