About 60 Women Arrested over Alleged drug Trafficking

The Afghan ministry of interior affairs vowed Wednesday that nearly 3000 people were arrested this year (solar year) over alleged drug trafficking in the country.



The Afghan ministry of interior affairs vowed Wednesday that nearly 3000 people were arrested this year (solar year) over alleged drug trafficking in the country.
“In the years 1396, 2,848 people were detained in more than 2 thousands operation launched to prevent drug trafficking,” said Khalil Bakhtyar, the deputy to the ministry of counter narcotic at a press conference.

56 women and 13 foreign citizens have been arrested on drug trafficking during the operations in 1396.
“During these operations, 231 tons of various types of drugs including opium, morphine, heroin, alcoholic beverages, etc. were confiscated and 27 laboratories and processing centers and 12 drug cashe were destroyed,” Mr Bakhtyar added.

“Drug traffickers and mafia group suffered $ 272 million as a result of the operation,” he continued.
