Ukrainian Forces Suffer Heavy Losses in Last 24 Hours Amid Russian Strikes

DID Press: Russian Ministry of Defense announced that during the past 24 hours, as a result of air and ground attacks, the Ukrainian army has suffered nearly 1,400 casualties.

According to the ministry, Russian armed forces, continuing their military operations in eastern Ukraine over the last day, have inflicted heavy losses and damage on Ukrainian forces.

The report said that in just the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army lost 1,395 soldiers.

Sputnik reported that as part of this operation, Russian forces succeeded in capturing the Yablonovka area in Donetsk.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that the country’s air defense systems had shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 fighter jet.

In addition, two HIMARS guided missiles and 457 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by Russian defense systems.

During Russia’s precise and targeted strikes, sites used for storing and launching Ukrainian drones were also hit, and according to Russian officials, significant damage was inflicted on Ukraine’s military infrastructure.

Furthermore, fighter jets from the Dnepr group in the Kherson region succeeded in destroying 11 “Baba Yaga” heavy drones.

These drones, considered among Ukraine’s most advanced unmanned aerial equipment, were targeted during a nighttime operation.

As fighting intensifies in the Donbas region, especially in Donetsk, Russia has announced the continuation of military operations aimed at weakening Ukraine’s defensive capabilities and securing areas under its control. On the other hand, Ukraine, relying on Western military support, continues to resist Russian advances.

Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian army positions have escalated just days before a historic meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, scheduled for this coming Friday, with the main topic being the war in Ukraine.

According to analysts, Russia’s intensified attacks on Ukraine is related to the upcoming meeting
