Putin, Netanyahu Hold Talks on Gaza and Middle East

DID Press: Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation to review the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, Kremlin announced.

According to a Kremlin statement, the two leaders “comprehensively” discussed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, the process of prisoner exchanges, Iran’s nuclear program, and efforts to strengthen stability in Syria.

The call followed the resumption of indirect talks between Israeli and Hamas delegations on October 6, 2025, aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict with mediation from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey. Three days later, on October 9, both sides signed an agreement to implement the first phase of a peace plan proposed by the U.S. president.

Subsequent phases of the plan are expected to continue through ongoing dialogue between the parties under the supervision of the mediators.
