Trump Declares Permanent Ban on Migrants from ‘3rd World’ Countries

DID Press: US President Donald Trump has once again taken a hardline stance on immigration, announcing that he has permanently halted the admission of migrants from what he referred to as “Third World” countries. In a speech to his supporters, Trump described Afghanistan, Haiti, and Somalia as “hellholes” and said the United States should not accept migrants from these nations—a remark that has drawn widespread criticism from human rights organizations.

Trump characterized his strict immigration policies as the “beginning of a new order” in the U.S. He questioned why the country only accepts migrants from nations he deemed in poor condition and suggested that countries like Norway, Sweden, or Denmark could provide “good people” instead.

During the address, he again attacked Somali immigrants in the U.S., describing the community as “disastrous, dirty, broken, and full of crime,” while asserting that America has “always” accepted migrants from such countries.

The controversial remarks follow previous criticism from Human Rights Watch, which labeled Trump’s immigration measures as “punitive hostility toward specific nationalities” and part of “an undeniable pattern of racism.” Observers say the latest comments have renewed concerns over the direction of U.S. immigration policy and the potential humanitarian, legal, and social consequences of such an approach.
