DID Press: Qasim al-Tamimi, an Iraqi political researcher and analyst, said in an interview with Al-Maalomah that the trajectory of recent clashes is structurally tilting in Iran’s favor. He argued that Tehran is fighting on its own territory, while the United States must operate through aircraft carriers and dispersed bases in the Persian Gulf — a difference that shifts the balance strategically toward Iran.

Al-Tamimi noted that prolonged conflict increases political pressure on leaders such as Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting that ultimately it would be Iran that determines the timing of the war’s end.
He added that Tehran has announced it has used only 5 percent of its missile arsenal so far. Despite this limited deployment, he claimed the strikes have inflicted significant damage on Israel and U.S. bases.
According to the Iraqi analyst, Iran’s missile capacity — combined with its ability to sustain a war of attrition — could significantly reshape both battlefield and political calculations in the coming weeks.
