Akbari Urges Peaceful Resolution to Nomad–Settler Land Disputes in Hazarajat
DID Press: Deputy head of the Shiite Ulema Council of Afghanistan Mohammad Akbari has called for peaceful dialogue to resolve long-standing disputes between nomadic communities and local residents in the Hazarajat region during a meeting with Taliban officials in Bamiyan.

Akbari met with Bamiyan provincial governor Gul Haidar Shafaq, where he emphasized the need to address ongoing tensions through negotiation, mutual understanding, and non-violent mechanisms.
According to a statement from the Taliban provincial governor’s office in Bamiyan, Akbari stressed that unresolved conflicts between nomads and local settlers could negatively impact social cohesion and daily life in central Afghanistan.
He urged local authorities and relevant institutions to take practical steps toward mediation and to create conditions for constructive dialogue between the affected communities.
Governor Shafaq responded by acknowledging the concerns raised and said that the local administration would review the issues and take necessary measures to address them.
Disputes between nomadic groups and residents of Hazarajat—particularly over grazing lands and property rights—remain a longstanding source of tension in several central provinces of Afghanistan and have periodically escalated into clashes in past years.
