After Controversies, Water and Energy Minister Fired

President Ghani on Saturday fired the Water and Energy Minister Ali Ahmad Osmani by issuing a verdict.



President Ghani on Saturday fired the Water and Energy Minister Ali Ahmad Osmani by issuing a verdict.
According to reports, Mohammad Gul Kholmi, the deputy to the minister of water and energy appointed as the acting head of the ministry.
The presidential palace confirmed that president Ghani dismissed the water and energy minister and appointed engineer M. Kholmi as the acting of the ministry until a nominated minister will be introduced to the Wolesi Jirga.

This comes as the relations between Osmani and Mr Ghani has recently been blurred. Three weeks ago, the security forces under the command of the presidency at Kabul airport prevented Mr Osmani to travel to northern Balkh province; in order to inaugurate some projects.

Mr Ghani himself traveled to Balkh to open the projects.
