Distributing Tazkira to Pakistani Citizens is Selling National Identity: MPs

The representatives of Kunar province in Wolesi Jirga say that in the process of distributing national Identity cards (Tazkira) to qualified voters, the cards have been distributed to Pakistani citizens too.



The representatives of Kunar province in Wolesi Jirga say that in the process of distributing national Identity cards (Tazkira) to qualified voters, the cards have been distributed to Pakistani citizens too.
According to them, the tazkiras have even been distributed in the names of dead people.

Wazhma safi, the representative of Kunar people in the Wolesi Jirga said that Pakistanis come to the country from the other side of the Durand line and receive Tazkira.
“The people from the other side of the Durand line receive Afghan identity card, using family relationships with the people on this side of the Durand Line,” Ms Safi added. “this is the sale of Afghanistan national identity to foreigners and a national betrayal which are ongoing in border provinces”.

According to her, in Kunar province, “Tazkiras have even been distributed in the name of dead people and stickers pinned as well; a woman has received tazkira with 4 scarves”.

Sakhi Mashwani, another MP said: “In Kunar province and border areas, even in some of the Taliban headquarters, Afghanistan’s identity cards are distributed to be used in elections”.

The MP emphasized that the Interior Ministry, in particular the intelligence agencies of the country, should restrict the distribution of identity cards to Pakistani citizens and prosecute those who carry out this work.

Afghanistan governments have always used from Kochi and residents of the other side of Durand line in political affairs.
