Dr. Afzal Hadid again Becomes Chief of Balkh provincial council


Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid won the annual provincial council election in Balkh province to be the leader of the provincial council for the fourth time.
According to DID news agency report, the annual provincial council election was held nationwide on Saturday, and some former head of provincial councils were chosen again to keep their posts.

Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid again became the chairman of Balkh provincial council by achieving 14 votes for out of 18 votes. Mr. Hadid is a close person to Balkh governor Ata M. Noor, and an educated person that becomes the chairman of the provincial council for the fourth time in a row.
Sayed Abdullah Masroor was elected as the deputy and Shojauddin Shoja as the secretary of the council.

According to Afghan political analysts, what is evident in the country’s provincial council elections, is that members of Hezb-e Jamiat Islami, allies, and movements close to the Coalition for the Salvation of Afghanistan and Ata M. Noor won the elections. They believe the wining of Jamiat members, allies and those close to the Coalition for the Salvation of Afghanistan and fans of Ata M. Noor in the provincial council election, point out the influence and the extend of the coalition across the country.

It is said the Coalition for the Salvation of Afghanistan which is consist of three major Hezb (parties) and dozens of other small and large political movements could take the provincial councils of the country in hand.
Political analysts estimate that the Coalition is also able to achieve the majority of parliamentary seats in the next election.
