Former Tolonews Anchor Nemat Rawan Assassinated

Former Tolonews presenter and press secretary of the Ministry of Finance Nemat Rawan was killed in Kandahar city, his family confirmed.

Nemat Rawan was killed by two unknown gunmen in PD-14 of Kandahar city, said Ghorzang Afridi, a security official at the Kandahar police headquarter.

No individual or group immediately claimed responsibility. However, the Taliban group on Wednesday warned that some media outlets are biased and are responsible for the subsequent actions.

Tolonews said in a statement that Rawan’s work as an anchor had finished about three weeks ago and he had joined the Ministry of Finance as a media official.
