IEC Extends Voter Registration Process in 20 provinces

The Afghanistan election commission announced Friday that it has extended the voter registration process in 20 provinces for another week.



The Afghanistan election commission announced Friday that it has extended the voter registration process in 20 provinces for another week.
According to the electoral law, the registration process for voters should begin on 14 April and end on 6 July 2018. But the commission has decided to extend the process in centers where they were closed due to various reasons.
The election commission has extended the process in 112 centers of 20 provinces (from July 11 – 18).

According to election officials, the decision has been made for people to participate in the upcoming parliamentary and district councils elections.
The parliamentary election is expected to be held on October 20.
