Iran has Always Sought Peace in Afghanistan: Iran’s FM

Mohammad Umar Daudzai, the head of Afghan HPC’s secretariat who is also president Ghani’s special envoy for regional consensus on peace, met Saturday with the Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) M. Jawad Zarif in Tehran.


Mohammad Umar Daudzai, the head of Afghan HPC’s secretariat who is also president Ghani’s special envoy for regional consensus on peace, met Saturday with the Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) M. Jawad Zarif in Tehran.

The two sides discussed the Afghan peace process and holding peace consultative Loya Jirga in Kabul.

The high peace council (HPC) said in a statement that the Iranian FM considered peace and stability in Afghanistan important, saying that his country is ready to help the government and the people of Afghanistan in ensuring peace.
“We believe that the Afghan people will say the final opinion on all affairs and for this, the Afghan government is the decision-maker as the representative of the people,” Iran’s FM said.

On Saturday, M. Umar Daudzai discussed Afghan peace process with the Iranian FM Jawad Zarif and Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the political deputy at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
