Iran Ready for any Kind of Cooperation with Afghanistan

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Iran’s chairman of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations Sayed Ali Naqi Kharrazi, who came to Kabul at the head of a high-level delegation.
President Ghani first welcomed the Iranian delegation and congratulated the new solar Year to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on behalf of the government and the people of Afghanistan. He described the visit of the delegation valuable in developing relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.

On the other side, Mr Kharrazi also expressed the congratulation message of the Iranian leadership and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of the New Year to the government and people of Afghanistan.
“Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in various sectors and we support the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process,” Mr Kharrazi said, “Iran and Afghanistan have long-standing historical relations and common culture and language.”

Both sides discussed and exchanged views on expanding economic cooperation, the balance of exports and imports, the development of the Chabahar port, the implementation of major regional interconnection projects, cooperation in combating joint threats of terrorism and the fight against transnational and international economic criminal networks.
