NATO Senior Civilian Representative Ambassador Cornelius Zimmermann said in the message that NATO stands firm with the Afghan people.
“On this day of national mourning, we sympathize with the Afghan people. We are shocked by yesterday’s appalling attack in Kabul, claiming so many lives,” the message read.
“NATO stands firm with the Afghan people,” it added.
On Tuesday night, a suicide attacker penetrated in a ceremony commemorating the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad in Kabul, killing at least 50 and wounded more than 80 others.
Afghanistan declared Wednesday as National Mourning Day.
