Nearly 90,000 Repetitive Tazkiras Identified: IEC
Afghanistan’s IEC claimed that 87000 repetitive national ID cards (Tazkira) were identified and have been deleted from the commission’s information system.
Afghanistan’s IEC claimed that 87000 repetitive national ID cards (Tazkira) were identified and have been deleted from the commission’s information system.
Hafizullah Hashimi, the IEC’s spokesman said during a press conference in Kabul on Wednesday that “of the 6.2 million tazkira, labeled with electoral stickers, registered with the Commission, 87,000 repetitive taskiras have been identified and removed from the Commission’s Information Center.”
“suspicious, under-aged, duplicate and fake taskiras will be expelled from the information system until the end of the process,” Mr Hashimi accentuated.
This comes as the Grand National Coalition on Saturday revealed that scores of original electoral stickers have been installed on fake taskiras.
The Grand National Coalition accused the government and the IEC of cheating in the 20 October parliamentary election, arguing these taskiras and stickers were registered with the central civil registration authority.
