During the press conference, the head of IEC Hawa Alam Nuristani said that “only presidential elections will be held on September 28 and the date for holding the provincial council’s election as well as the parliamentary election for Ghazni province will be announced later.”
The decision comes as the IEC had previously said that three elections (the presidential, provincial councils, and the parliamentary election for Ghazni) will be held on September 28.
The parliamentary election for Ghazni province was not held in September last year due controversies erupted over its constituency.
