Opening Ceremony of COVID_19 Vaccination in Afghanistan
The inauguration ceremony of the Covid-19 vaccination was held at the Presidential Palace with the presence of President Ghani and high-ranking government officials.
The ceremony which was held on Tuesday morning, the COVID-19 vaccination was symbolically applied to some members of the Afghan armed forces, journalists, and medical staff.
President Ashraf Ghani, vice presidents, speakers of the national assembly, and high-ranking government officials attended the ceremony.
“Afghanistan is one of the leading countries in the field of implementing Covid-19 vaccination as it has not been started in 172 countries so far,” said President Ghani, addressing the ceremony.
The President thanked India for its cooperation and assistance, adding that India’s assistance to Afghanistan is fundamental and sustainable.
“India is a friendly country that has invested in key projects in Afghanistan,” he added.
President Ghani also stressed the need to first vaccinate medical staff, the armed forces, and vulnerable groups of the society.
It is worth mentioning that the 500 thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were gifted to Afghanistan by India.
