Pakistani NSA Paid Unannounced visit to Kabul
Heading a high-level governmental delegation, Pakistani NSA Moeed Yusuf Landed in Kabul Saturday morning to discuss various issues with the Taliban officials.
“Our NSA Moeed Yusuf is in Kabul with an interministerial delegation,” twitted Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistani envoy to Kabul.
“Had a productive meeting with Acting FM Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi to kick off the visit. Will have multiple official meetings to strengthen humanitarian and economic engagement,” added Ahmad Khan.
The Pakistan NSA travelled to Kabul at a time of tensions along the Pak-Afghan border.
The main sectors of Pakistan’s cooperation with Afghanistan include health, higher education, provision of humanitarian assistance, and enhancement of trade/business contacts.
On the other hand, National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf told the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs that organised terrorist networks were still operating on a soil, which was still being used against Pakistan.
Earlier, Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf has cancelled his planned visit to Afghanistan in view of a planned anti-Pakistan protest in Kabul.
