Peace-Seekers from Helmand Coming to Kabul on Foot!

Some residents of south-west Helmand province headed toward capital Kabul on foot with a peace message in protest of insecurity, suicide attacks and the government’s negligence over the issue.



Some residents of south-west Helmand province headed toward capital Kabul on foot with a peace message in protest of insecurity, suicide attacks and the government’s negligence over the issue.

They headed toward capital Kabul through Helmand-Kabul path on Monday to voice their message.
The peace-seekers had previously urged the Taliban and the government to put an end to the war and violence.

Helmand Provincial Peace seekers on Sunday launched a protest gathering and issued a resolution calling on the groups involved in the war to issue a ceasefire on the eve of Ramadan month.

The resolution has asked the parties involved in the war to stop killing civilians in honor of Ramadan month.
The peace seekers from Helmand province launched their protest about two months ago when at least 50 people lost their lives as a result of a suicide attack at the provincial gymnasium.

According to them, neither the government nor the Taliban payed attention to their protest.
