President M. Ashraf Ghani on Thursday discussed Afghan-led peace with the Pakistani PM Imran Khan via phone, the presidential palace (ARG) said in a statement.


President M. Ashraf Ghani on Thursday discussed Afghan-led peace with the Pakistani PM Imran Khan via phone, the presidential palace (ARG) said in a statement.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process and bilateral cooperation, the statement said.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan accepted president Ghani’s invitation to visit Afghanistan.

The telephone conversation comes as US Special Representative ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in Islamabad to discuss peace with military and civil leaders.
Afghanistan believes Pakistan can have a key role in bringing Taliban to negotiation table with Afghan government.
