The two – day meeting of the world religious scholars on war and peace in Afghanistan which was kicked off on Tuesday, is underway in Makkah.
During the conference, the religious scholars declared that war in Afghanistan is Haram and a global sedition.

The first day of the conference which was held in Jeddah called on Taliban group to stop the war and join the peace process.
“on behalf of OIC, I demand peace and stability in Afghanistan and support any peace process,” said OIC secretary general Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen.

On the other hand, Saleh bin Abdulaziz al-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Endowment Minister, said: “It is a fortune of all Muslims in the world and the Islamic Ummah in solving the problems of Afghanistan and paving the way for a stable platform in this country”.
Some Saudi religious scholars also considered the war in Afghanistan as a “sedition”.
Imam Saleh bin Abdullah ibn Hamid, the imam of the Masjid al-Haram, said: “The ongoing war in Afghanistan is a sedition that should end soon. The current situation in Afghanistan is not tolerable and the killing of Muslims is unacceptable, and a perfect Muslim is the one who welcomes the peace”.

The final declaration of the Islamic Cleric Summit in Saudi Arabia is expected to call on Muslim scholars to seriously involve in the war on Afghanistan and declare their stance on suicide and blast in Afghanistan.

What appears to be a vacuum in this religious scholars meeting is that there is no representative from Iran and only one representative from Pakistan attended the conference.
