World Cup 2026: Germany, Netherlands Eliminated as Brazil, Morocco and Paraguay Advance

DID Press: 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout stage produced major surprises last night, with Brazil, Morocco, and Paraguay securing their places in the round of 16, while Germany and the Netherlands were eliminated from the competition.

In a tightly contested match, Brazil national football team defeated Japan 2–1, securing qualification after a late winner from Gabriel Martinelli. Brazil initially fell behind but staged a comeback to turn the match around in the closing minutes.

One of the biggest shocks came as Paraguay national football team eliminated four-time world champions Germany national football team after a 1–1 draw in regular time, winning 4–3 on penalties in a dramatic shootout.

Meanwhile, Morocco national football team edged out Netherlands national football team in another dramatic encounter. After a 1–1 draw over 120 minutes, Morocco prevailed 3–2 on penalties to book their place among the final 16 teams.
