First Time, China Unveils New J-35 Stealth Fighter Jet

DID Press: In a symbolic move showcasing its growing military capabilities, China has publicly unveiled its next-generation stealth fighter jet, the J-35, along with its land-based variant, the J-35A, for the first time. The display marks a significant milestone in China’s efforts to strengthen its air power and compete with the United States in advanced aerial warfare.

According to the Global Times, China’s state-run media outlet, Beijing officially presented the J-35 and J-35A fighters to the public on Sunday, marking the first public appearance of China’s domestically produced fifth-generation stealth aircraft.

The J-35 is China’s first indigenous stealth fighter specifically designed for aircraft carriers. It recently completed its first successful launch and landing tests using an electromagnetic catapult aboard the Fujian, China’s newest and most advanced carrier.

Military analysts say the unveiling sends a clear message to Washington and its Asian allies that China now possesses the full capability to manufacture advanced, multi-role stealth fighters.

Designed for both stealth and counter-stealth missions, the J-35’s primary objective is to achieve air superiority in complex combat environments. However, it is also equipped for precision strikes against land and sea targets and features state-of-the-art radar and missile systems.

Defense experts believe the introduction of the J-35 could alter the air power balance in East Asia and significantly elevate China’s standing among the world’s leading air forces.
