DID Press: French President Emmanuel Macron warned at the G20 leaders’ summit in Johannesburg that the group is “at risk” and losing its ability to address global crises.

“G20 may be reaching the end of a cycle. We can no longer resolve major crises together around this table,” he said in his address.
Macron stressed that member states must demonstrate “collective mobilization” around shared priorities, otherwise the group’s credibility and effectiveness will continue to erode.
The summit took place amid the absence of U.S. President Donald Trump, who declined to attend and effectively boycotted the meeting.
