The second round of Afghanistan, Pakistan and China trilateral dialogue held on Saturday in Kabul at the level of Foreign Ministers (FMs), during which a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to fight terrorism.
After signing the MoU, the three FMs attended a joint press conference to answer the reporters.

During the press conference, the Pakistani FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi talked about building a trust bridge and to avoid blaming each other.
The Pakistani FM emphasised that Afghan peace is an internal issue which must be managed by the Afghan people and Pakistan has repeatedly announced its commitment to cooperate with Afghanistan in this regard.
“As long as there is no trust between the two countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan), these meetings will have no fruits,” he said.
“We should change our view in order to achieve a result. You have experienced many conflicts. We will reach nowhere by blaming each other; so we should work together to make peace in Afghanistan,”
“I am here to build a trust bridge; otherwise, these meetings will have no tangible results,” Mr Qureshi added.

The Chinese FM also said during the press conference that “we (the three nations) are committed fighting against terrorism and have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Afghan FM Salahuddin Rabbani said that we discussed the fight against terrorism, political solution to end the war in Afghanistan as well as regional cooperation.
“We have focused on three main issues, security and counter-terrorism, economic development and regional connectivity, and consensus on Afghan-led and the Afghan-owned peace process,” said Rabbani.

The first round of talks was held in Beijing, and its third round will be held in Islamabad.
This trilateral summit is considered important and is a great opportunity for Afghan leaders to use it in favor of security and peace process.
