Fatwa Against Terrorism Should be Worldwide: president Ghani
President Ghani criticized the anti-terrorism Fatwa issued by Pakistani religious scholars, saying it should have covered entire Islamic world including Afghanistan.
President Ghani’s remarks came a day after nearly 2000 Pakistani clerics unveiled the Fatwa at a government-sponsored event in Islamabad.
“Fatwas issued under Islam have never been confined to geographical boundaries of a single nation,” he said among a gathering in Kabul on Wednesday.
“If they [Islamic principles] extend to all [of the world] of Islam, then it [the Pakistani edict] should first and foremost be implemented in relation to Afghanistan,” he added.
