Ghani, Rabbani to Attend Tashkent Summit

President Ashraf Ghani and the country’s foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani will attend the Tashkent summit expected to be held on Monday.



President Ashraf Ghani and the country’s foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani will attend the Tashkent summit expected to be held on Monday.
President Ghani, secretary of state and some other officials will participate at the meeting.

Uzbek Presidential spokesperson has written on Twitter that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Ghani will address the Tashkent Summit.

US Secretary of State’s Deputy Thomas Channon, EU high representative Federica Mugherini and foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey and Pakistan, are the other key participants, the spokesperson added.
Tashkent peace and Cooperation conference is being held without Taliban group while Kabul was the host of second so-called Kabul Process last month and president Ghani suggested an unconditioned peace offer to Taliban.
It is worth mentioning that most influential countries in Afghanistan’s affairs assured to attend Tashkent summit.
