A number of MPs claim that Pakistani PM Abbasi in his recent trip to Kabul demanded from president Ghani to dismiss Kandahar police chief General Abdul Raziq.
In the Parliament’s Monday session, Shakiba Hashimi, Kandahar people representative in Wolesi Jirga, claimed the Pakistani prime minister provided the government of Afghanistan with six proposals in his visit last week that removal of general Raziq as Kandahar police chief was one of the proposals.
“Hands are working inside and outside to dismiss general Raziq as Kandahar police chief and the government is now pressuring him for holding a meeting several months ago in the province,” Ms Hashimi said.
According to her, Khaqan Abbasi urged Raziq’s dismissal because he is a major obstacle for Pakistan’s projects in Kandahar province.
“If the government dismisses Abdul Raziq, the people and elders of Kandahar will stand against the government,” Kandahar representative warned.
Asefa Shadab, another MP, noted dismissing general Raziq as a condition for Pakistani delegation to cooperate with the government of Afghanistan, is against international principles.
“Intelligence cooperation with Pakistan is completely disapproved by the people of Afghanistan; the president should pay attention to this issue,” Ms Shadab said.
Abdullah Mohammadi, an MP, also reminded that the policies of Pakistan have always been deceitful, and Pakistan’s prime minister is trying to deceive the government of Afghanistan by requesting the dismissal of General Abdul Raziq as commander of the Kandahar police.
it is said that relations between Kandahar police chief General Abdul Raziq and the central government have been riddled. There are rumors the government is seeking to oust the commander.
