On occasion of country’s Independence Day

President lays wreath at Minaret freedom


On the occasion of 98th anniversary of country’s Independence Day, president Ghani put a wreath at minaret freedom, during a special program.
According to DID news agency report, the president did not speak and the military parade did not take place.
Hamid Karzai, country’s former president, some cabinet members, and senior government officials attended the ceremony which was held in the ministry of defense today morning (Saturday, 19 August).
Amanullah Khan, the king of Afghanistan came to power in 1919, and sought country’s independence from Britain during his early days, until he got the complete independence on 28th Assad 1298 solar year. After that the Afghan embassy in London and the Britain’s Embassy in Kabul commenced its activity.
