Thousands Protest over Primary Election Results in Balkh Constituency

According to reports, thousands of residents of northern Balkh province protested over the announcement of the primary parliamentary election result in the province on Tuesday.


According to reports, thousands of residents of northern Balkh province protested over the announcement of the primary parliamentary election result in the province on Tuesday.
The protesters by issuing a 10 article resolution, urging for the recount of votes in Balkh constituency. They insisted that they will defend from their rights.

After a massive demonstration, the protestors warned by issuing a resolution that if the electoral commissions do not pay attention to their demands, they will launch a widespread civil movement and will declare Balkh constituency votes invalid.
1- To recount the Oct. 20 parliamentary election for Balkh constituency.
2- The unconditional invalidation of non-biometric votes.
3- The invalidation of voter lists which were added later at the polling stations.
4- The invalidation of similar marked ballot papers.
5- To invalidate the votes of areas which were added later to the commission’s chart.
6- To invalidate the votes of areas which election was not held, but their ballot papers were included in the election process.
7- To seriously prosecute violations, frauds, and electoral violations carried out by commission’s staff, candidates and powerful individuals.
8- To invalidate unauthorized result sheets by the commission, supervisors, and eyewitnesses.
9- To differentiate false tazkiras (national ID), invalidating their votes and prosecuting the offenders.
10- To punish the candidates that have committed electoral violations, and preventing them to nominate themselves in the next election process.
