The US embassy’s political delegation met with Afghanistan IEC’s leadership board in capital Kabul on Thursday 2 August.
The visit from the Independent Election Commission (IEC) on the eve of the parliamentary elections, is sensitive, indicating the concerns of the foreign partners of the government in this regard.

During the meeting, the IEC’s leadership delegation expressed its gratitude to the US embassy for welcoming the date of the presidential election.
The political adviser to the American embassy, said his country backs up the election process, adding that America is ready to support Afghanistan’s national process.
The American delegation also visited the Election Commission’s registration department.

It is worth mentioning that in the run-up to the parliamentary elections, the political issues are getting hotter, and foreign countries in Afghanistan are looking to play a prominent role in the future political equations of the country.
