According to unconfirmed reports, the presidential palace (ARG) appointed Naqibullah Fayiq as the new governor of northern Faryab province on the third day of protets.
The new has not yet confirmed by official sources.
It is said that Mr Fayiq entered into Faryab province on Thursday and will be introduced as the new governor in the coming hours.

Mr. Fayiq represented the people of Faryab in the sixteenth round of the House of Representatives, who was appointed as the Director of the National Standard department about two years ago.
Mr Fayiq was a close person of the first VP General Abdul Rashid Dostum.

This comes as Faryab province witnesses a massive public demonstration against the central government in the past two days.

Hundreds of people in Faryab province demonstrated in Maimana city after the security forces arrested Nizamuddin Qaisari, a public uprising commander in the province on Monday and transferred him to Kabul.

On Wednesday, the demonstration turned violent after the security forces opened fire on protestors, killing 3 and wounding 7 more.
The angry demonstrators entered the provincial building and set it on fire after shootings.

It is worth mentioning that a massive demonstration has been launched in Takhar and Jawzjan provinces in support of Qaisari and the protestors closed highways in Jazjan province.
