Over 4-thousand Complaints have been Addressed, says ECC

Officials at the Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) says that they have processed 4,362 election-related complaints.

Officials at the Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) says that they have processed 4,362 election-related complaints.
“The Afghan people voted honestly and we addressed the complaints fairly and impartially to ensure justice,” ssaid Zohra Bayan Shinwari, head of ECC during a press conference on Wednesday.

“Those who cheated were fined or were introduced to judicial authorities, including ministers and prominent figures,” Shinwari added, stressing that “4,362 complaints lodged with the commission were addressed from a total of 4,528.”

The commission, meanwhile, said that “1,789 complaints were rejected and the votes of 1,818 polling stations will be recounted”.
“The votes of 88 poling centers were declared void and 54 individuals were fined due to frauds and violations,” ECC officials added, while 907 complaint cases were introduced to judicial authorities.
This comes as the preliminary results of the presidential election expected to be announced on 18 October, was postponed by one week.
