Pakistani envoy Assured me of Islamabad’s full Support for Peace: Abdullah
The chairman of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) Abdullah Abdullah says that Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul assured him of Islamabad’s full support for peace in Afghanistan.
Abdullah Abdullah says that he had a constructive meeting on Saturday with Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan.
“We exchanged views on peace, talks in Doha, bilateral relations and the role of Pakistan in achieving a lasting peace,” Abdullah said. “He assured me of Pakistan’s full support for peace,” he added.
The meeting comes as the Taliban delegations are reportedly visiting countries in the region amid the start of second phase of intra-Afghan talks in Doha.
According to the members of the Afghan government’s negotiating team, the Taliban are reluctant to hold talks with them.
